A journey into the unique and magical atmosphere of Spoleto Festival, one of Europe’s leading cultural events that offers concerts, ballet and contemporary dance performances and art exhibitions. Spoleto is one of the most fascinating and important medieval towns in Italy and has hosted the internationally renowned Festival dei Due Mondi (Spoleto Fesitval) since it was founded by Giancarlo Menotti in 1958.
TOUR PROGRAMME
Thursday 9th July:
- Pick-up at airport and private transfer to Palazzo Bontadosi in Montefalco
- Lunch at a private country house, La Selva, Castel Ritaldi
- Relaxing walk in the Fonti del Clitunno Natural Park and visit of Tempietto sul Clitunno
- Dinner at renowned country restaurant, Locanda Rovicciano, Castel Ritaldi (included).
Friday 10th July:
- Breakfast in hotel
- Private transfer to Assisi and guided tour of St. Francis’ birthplace
- Transfer to Dionigi Winery, Bevagna for pairing lunch and wine-tasting of some of Umbria’s finest wines and traditional recipes (included) followed by walk through the vineyards
- Transfer to Palazzo Bontadosi and dinner at Locanda del Teatro in the piazza of Montefalco (included).
Saturday 11th July:
- Breakfast in hotel
- Transfer to Spoleto and guided visit of this magnificent medieval city
- Light lunch at Sabatini (included), one of Spoleto’s best restaurants
- Transfer to Palazzo Bontadosi for a free afternoon or to La Selva to relax by the pool
- Late afternoon transfer to Spoleto
- Early dinner at Tempio del Gusto (included) and Dance Performance in Teatro Romano
- Transfer to Palazzo Bontadosi.
Sunday 12th July:
- Breakfast in hotel
- Transfer to Spello, relaxing guided visit of this magical town known as “the city of flowers”
- Light lunch in Spello (included)
- Transfer to Palazzo Bontadosi and free afternoon to relax in the hotel spa
- Transfer to Spoleto for Spoleto Festival Final concert in Piazza Duomo followed by Gala dinner (included)
Monday 13th July:
- Breakfast in the hotel followed by relaxing day at La Selva with ‘al fresco’ lunch or visit the magical medieval town of Bevagna and visit the renowned Caprai winery for wine-tasting.
- Transfer to Hotel Bontadosi to rest or change of clothes, as desired
- Farewell dinner at La Selva including “Aperitivo with Saint Francis”, live music and “baci e abbracci” (included)
Tuesday 14th July:
- Breakfast in the hotel and transfer to Rome or other destinations.
